Upon entering the permanent exhibition, you will start your tour by following the timeline of the history of the Olympic Games, where you will be discovering their origins, the ancient Olympia, the rediscovery of the Olympic ideals, the revival of the Games in modern times, and all editions of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. These will be followed by the presentation of the modern Olympic Movement through phygital exhibits and a collection of Olympic Torches, the presentation of Greek Olympic and Paralympic medalists and a panorama of sports and athletes' equipment.
To live the experience of the footrace athlete in antiquity, you may enter the ancient Olympia Stadium Hall and compete in running. Learn about the preparation of the athletes and the rules of the Games. Don’t miss the wall size photos of the Olympia excavations and the city of Athens during 1884, just before the revival of the Games in modern times. A great stop in your tour will be the Panathenaic stadium and the Athens 1896 Olympic Games, where you will be able to sit on the stalls of the stadium and watch the original diary of the Games. A couple of unmissable digital exhibits are to be found in the centre of the hall showcasing all the Editions of the Games, as well as in the hall of the Olympic Movement. A phygital book with a realistic/dynamic page flip effect that showcases what Olympism consists of. Finally close your tour with the screening of an inspirational movie about the endeavor and struggle of the Olympic athletes.
